Book Synopsis: A dying kingdom.
A hidden foe.
And a tiny creature on whom all hope depends...
The once-prosperous kingdom of Daelin is in trouble. Illness and famine plague its people, and Prince Evander finds himself burdened with the responsibility of marrying strategically to save them.
When an injured squirrel crosses his path, Evander rescues her and patches her up — but the bushy-tailed Iora understands his every word. As she befriends the palace creatures and accompanies Evander on his royal errands, Iora discovers the truth of Daelin’s dire circumstances.
In a world where corrupted magic lurks, ready to strike at the heart of the most susceptible rulers for its own greedy ends, nothing is as it seems.
Determined to rescue the home — and the man — she loves, Iora sets out on a journey that few have returned from alive. Can one small squirrel rescue a kingdom in crisis?

Question: Malinda, what are you working on now?
Author: I am currently working on the first in my next contemporary romance- this time set in Scotland! I’ve had to do tons of research into not only my area, but also farming techniques still in use and animal husbandry. My goal is a spring release next year.
Question: Will Awaken get a sequel?
Author: Awaken will be getting a sequel! I am super excited to get back into that fairy tale world and to Iora and Evander’s adventure. I have been taking copious notes for the plot, as well as new fantastical creatures to include.
